We presented eight innovation domains with the greatest growth potential

Together with USAID we officially launched the Serbia Innovates project. The event, which took place on 18 June 2021 in Belgrade, was attended by representatives of the economy, start-ups and academia, relevant financial, government and non-government sectors.

The aim of the Serbia Innovates project, which will be implemented in cooperation with the Public Policy Research Centre and WM Equity Partners, is to jointly build a friendly environment for innovation development in Serbia.

The numerous guests in the Park Aleksandrov were addressed by Shanley Pinchotti, USAID Serbia acting Mission Director, Kosta Andric, General Manager of ICT Hub, Aleksandra Popovic, Director of Serbia Innovates Project and Branka Andjelkovic, Cofounder and Program Director of the Public Policy Research Centre.

During the event, we mapped eight domains within which the individual players will make connections and receive the needed technical, institutional and financial support. The domains covered by the research are artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, high-tech agricultural production, the video game industry, smart environment solutions., eco-smart energy sources, advanced materials and advanced production processes and biotechnology. The research will last until the fall, when we will decide which four domains we want to test in the real environment through pilot projects.
